Make Sure You Have Good Home Owners Insurance

One of the most important things you can purchase for your peace of mind is home owners insurance in Rochester NY. While all of us hope we'll never need to use that type of insurance, its nice to have it if disaster does strike. A few years ago, we had hurricane force winds in our community, which was highly unusual. After listening to the howling winds all night, we knew that what we'd find in the morning wouldn't be good. Most of the houses in our small town were affected in one way or another. We lost most of the shingles from our roof, and a tree was blown into the side of the garage, damaging the siding. It could have been worse, but it was still a bit overwhelming. We called our insurance agent to come out and assess the damage. She arrived within a few hours and took pictures from several angles. We got a few estimates for repairs and some more info and gave them to our agent a few days later. I was concerned that there would be some "glitch," so that the company would deny payment. However, after we paid our small deductible, they covered all the repairs without the slightest hesitation. The premiums we had paid for home owners insurance was definitely money well spent.
